Study is the first thing. Once the books are open or the computer is on, phone calls are unanswered, TV shows unwatched, snacks unnoticed. Study is business; business comes before everything.
Study anywhere or everywhere. Study times are different for different children. Some work late at night when the house is quiet. Others wake early. Still others study as soon as they come home from school. However, all agree that consistency (持之以恒) is needed.
Get organized. Don’t waste time looking for a pencil or missing paper. Keep everything right where one can put one’s hands on it. Even for a student who doesn’t keep his own study area organized, a bag or a drawer is needed to put things in to save time.
Learn how to read. The secret of good reading is to be an active reader—one who continually asks questions that lead to a full understanding of the writer’s message.
Use your time best. Even the best students put off their work sometimes. But when that happens, they face it. “If you want to be at the top, make sure to finish the work on time.” says Christi Anderson, a top student at Lyman High School.
Take good notes and use them. Reading the text is important, but the teacher is going to test you on what he or she emphasized (强调). That’s what you find in your notes.
Another kind of important “secret” of the top students is not so secret at all. For almost all of them, their parents’ help is important.                                     301words

Mobile homes, pulled by specially designed (设计) trucks have been increasing in numbers all over the United States. Often, driving along, you can see some mobile(可移动的)homes high on a hill. Some stand under trees along a river or a lake. They’re wonderfully built homes. Sometimes they’re as much as 40 feet long, with two to five rooms, and you can find many things you need in them. When you park your mobile home, water, electricity power and telephones are connected, and you can enjoy yourself there.
The fact that these homes can be moved doesn’t mean that they do move all the time. Sometimes their owners stay for years in one place, plant gardens, build walls and so on. These homes are often quite expensive. Some even cost $ 20,000.
Why does a family choose to live in such a home? Well, it’s comfortable, easy to keep clean, easy to keep warm, no need to paint. What’s more, the fast increase of mobile homes in numbers has something to do with the job uncertainty. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. If a factory closes down, you may be trapped with the house you can’t sell. However, if you have a mobile home, you can move on easily.
The greatest selling attraction(吸引)of these mobile homes is that they can be improved every year. If you’re doing well, you may change a new model just as you do with a car. There is a ready market for used ones, so the price of the mobile homes is higher than that of automobiles (汽车).
