高三英语话题总复习: Festivals, holidays and celebrations
Period 2词汇课教学设计
一、课型
本课型为词汇课型。
 
二、教学内容
以承前启后为原则,主要对第二课时阅读课中出现的关键词汇(如:wedding, bride, groom, church, ocean floor, invitation, reception, vow, march, ceremony, honeymoon, vary, marry, celebrate, arrange, decorate, congratulate, gather, exchange, etc.)进行重点学习。学习过程中,举一反三,开展词类分析、词性转换等自主学习和拓展学习。
 
三、教学目标
1. 知识与技能目标
(1)掌握重点词汇:wedding, bride, groom, church, ocean floor, invitation, reception, vow, march, ceremony, honeymoon, vary, marry, celebrate, arrange, decorate, congratulate, gather, exchange, etc.
(2)学会在语句、篇章中区别和运用重点词汇及拓展词汇,学会正确表达,提高学生综合运用词汇的能力。
2. 过程与方法目标
(1)引导学生学会自主学习、合作学习、探究学习。
(2)指导学生学会运用记忆、猜测、词典助学、自我调节等策略开展词汇学习。
3. 情感态度与价值观目标
(1)通过教学互动,增加师生间的沟通与信任。
(2)通过课前导学、课堂点拨、课后巩固,旨在激发学生的学习能动性。
(3)通过讨论等环节,培养学生的合作意识。
 
四、教学设计
1. 教学思路
从激发兴趣入手,突出庆祝活动“wedding”主题,由点到面,给予语言输入,在任务中强化语言输入,通过辨析、配对、翻译、选择等活动进行语言输出。
2. 教学重难点
(1)教学重点:掌握本课学习的重点词汇及其拓展词汇,并正确运用和表达。
(2)教学难点:学会一些有关词汇学习的策略,如记忆策略、猜测策略、词典助学策略等。

Self-study
Get the students to have a self-study about three phrases“no/without doubt, rid…of, no more than”and the related phases.
According to the student paper, the students have a self-study and try to undertand the exact usage of them, meanwhile, classify the similar phrases.
课前预习活动,主要培养学生的自主预习习惯,并为本堂课的学习做好储备。

Step One: Lead-in
1. Get the students to watch a video about Prince William and Princess Kate’s wedding ceremony.
2. Talk about the wedding vows and read it loudly.
1. Watch a video carefully.
2. Try to get the information about wedding vows.
通过播放威廉王子和凯特的婚礼视频,激发学生的学习兴趣,并引导学生获取有关婚礼誓词的信息。

Step Two: Presentation
Present a picture with the topic of wedding and talk about different styles between Chinese wedding and western wedding.
Look at the picture and try to find the different points between Chinese wedding and western wedding.
呈现本课主题,让学生谈论中西婚礼的不同。

Step Three: Talking about “who”on the wedding
Study some nouns: bride, groom, couple, newly-wed, priest, relative, friend, guest.
Look at the pictures and talk about persons on the wedding and make sure that the students grasp them.
引导学生根据图片去发现“谁”在婚礼上,并呈现出来,让学生掌握它们。

Step Four: Talking about “where”celebrated
Study other nouns: church, ocean floor, seaside, mountain-top, hotel, home.
According to the pictures, say out what the students have seen on the screen and what they have known.
    通过图片和学生的已知,让学生了解掌握西方庆祝婚礼的地点。

Step Five: Talking about “what”about wedding
1. Study some words, such as invitation, reception, party.
2. Match the English meaning and Chinese meaning of some words: vow, march, ceremony, honeymoon, custom, culture.
1. According to the two pictures, get the words “invitation, reception, party”.
 
2. Do the matching exercise and try to grasp them.
学习invitation和reception,关注以 “-tion”为后缀的名词,学会词性思维方式;通过做连线练习,帮助学生区分和掌握与婚礼有关的信息。

Step Six: Listing
Make a list of “who, where, what”about western wedding.
Memorize what they learnt just now and learn more.
    罗列出关于“婚礼”的名词类词汇,引导学生思考how to celebrate wedding,并过渡到动词的学习。此环节为课中小结和过渡。

Step Seven: Talking about “how”on wedding
Get the students to study some verbs, such as vary, marry, celebrate, arrange, decorate, congratulate, gather, exchange.
According to T’s guide, do the related exercises. For example, find the change form of each word, get the Chinese meaning, translation, multiple choice,etc.
    通过如“词性转换、中汉互译、选词填空、词义联想”等具体练习,让学生掌握与婚礼相关的动词类。

Step Eight: Practice
Get the students to fill in the blanks in order to make the passage complete,similar to the form of the college entrance exam.
Do the exercise individully and check the answers together.
    通过做语法填空题,检验学生本节课的所学;同时,紧密链接高考题型要求,让学生学会“学以致用”、“学有所悟”。

Step Nine: Summary and Homework
The teacher makes a summary and assigns the homework.
a. Copy the sentences you like in your notebook.
b. Have a preview of Reading Material and try your best to finish the exercises.
c. Do the exercise: translation and word study.
Listen to the teacher’s assignment carefully and try to get it.
 
    这一环节主要是梳理出本课的教学内容,并布置作业。一是养成记录好词好句的学习习惯;二是做好下节阅读课的预习;三是完成拓展学习任务。
