高三英语话题总复习: Festivals, holidays and celebrations
Period 1听说课教学设计
一、课型
    本课型为听说课型。
二、教学内容
    以听说领先,读写跟上原则,本课为本话题复习的热身环节,务必调动学生的学习兴趣,查出学生的不足,争取在学生原有的基础上有一定提高和拓展。学生在本课学习过程中,我安排了大量有趣的节日图片,给学生插上了想象翅膀,产生了口语交际的强烈愿望;课前的预习环节,为学生扫清了词汇和句型障碍,为学生对中西方相关文化知识的了解也作了很好的铺垫,特别是让学生自己制作节日谜语,让学生对参与本堂口语课有了跃跃欲试的冲动。这节课的主要线索为谈论节日的几大元素(时间、起源/历史、传统活动、典型服装和食物等),练习形式为角色扮演,猜谜和自由谈论,课后还有一个提升测试,完善了模仿朗读和故事复述两种练习形式。。
三、教学目标
1. 知识与技能目标
1)学会从节日的几个主要元素方面就该话题进行谈论.
2)能就节日这个话题进行提问,能听懂录音以及同学、教师对于某个节日的简单描述。
2. 过程与方法目标
1)引导学生学会自主学习(课前)、合作学习、探究学习(课中,课后)。
2)运用小组竞赛的形式,调动学生的学习积极性和课堂参与度。
3. 情感态度与价值观目标
1)巧妙运用本月北美的一个重要节日-感恩节,渗透感恩教育。
2)通过对比中国节日与西方节日,培养学生的跨文化交际意识。
四、教学设计
1. 教学思路
从激发兴趣入手,紧密围绕节日话题,让学生先模仿再练习,先优秀学生展示,再中等学生跟上,先教师控制课堂,再师生控制课堂,最后达到生生的互动。
2. 教学重难点
1)教学重点:能准确就节日话题的几个具有共性主要元素进行提问并能听懂得简单的节日介绍。
2)教学难点:能根据不同中外节日的特性,用3—5个句子描述一个节日

Get the students to have a self-study about important vocabulary, sentence structures, related knowledge about background and prepare a riddle of a festival.
Finish three kinds of exercises before class independently or by discussing with partners. They can turn to a dictionary or search on the Internet.
课前预习活动,主要是扫清词汇句型以及背景知识障碍,并为本堂课的学习做好热身准备。

Step One: Warm-up
1. Get the students to list as many festivals in each month as they can.
2. Talk about the date of that day.
1. Have a competition to show which group has known the most festivals
2. Review how to speak aloud the date exactly.
通过小组竞赛的形式激发学生的兴趣和表现欲,另日期与节日紧密相关,此项活动旨在查缺补漏和口语热身。

Step Two: The elements of a typical festival
Guide the students to learn to talk about the festivals from different aspects.
1. Find the clue of studying festivals.
2. Brainstorm: the elements of a typical festival.
师生以头脑风暴的形式挖掘出探讨节日可从哪些方面入手,这一环节主要为引导方法,理清线索。。

Step Three: Presentation
Present the pictures matching the descriptions in the paper given  before class. Get them to match the pictures with the descriptions, then check the answers.
Recall the descriptions of several typical festivals based on the given pictures and improve the understanding of the descriptions. Point out which aspect is talked about
用图片形式呈现学生的课前预习内容,让学生既又新鲜感,又能加深对原材料的理解,巧妙的将讲评用在新课的呈现环节, 学生在匹配和判断过程中不自觉地学到描述节日。

Step Four: learn to ask questions according to the elements
Complete the questions that begin with “when, why. How, what and who etc.” to get information about a festival
Find the rules of a Yes-no question, or a Wh-question. Imitate first and then ask about the elements of a festival.
    用补全问句的方式,让学生正确就节日话题重要方面进行提问,为下一环节的猜谜作铺垫,并为再下一步的听说训练—角色扮演打基础。

Step Five: Guessing Game
1. Describe Thanksgiving Day orally and let the students to guess what festival is talked about.
2. Present the related pictures to help the students to get it.
1. Practice speaking (ask for information about the festival) and listening (listen to the teacher’s description) and understanding.
 
2. With the help of the vivid related pictures to guess the festival.
以猜谜形式呈现感恩节,这一环节采用让学生先问,教师后描述,最后再借助图片形式,既巩固了问句,又练了学生的听力,更激发了学生用英语进行思维的能力。

Step Six: Listing Practice
Role-play: Li Juan and Tom talk about the traditional festivals both China and America.
Listening and speaking (3 questions and 5 answers).
    高考实战练习;本课采用听说考试第二题的角色扮演,检验学生用英语进行对话的能力, 让学生产生成功的体验,学以致用。

Step Seven: Making up riddles for more different festivals.
Get the students to make up riddles about festivals. Once finished, guessing game is played.
Prepare a riddle and take an active part in the guessing games.
    优秀学生自由口头编节日谜语(口语),中等学生积极猜谜(听力),基础薄弱的学生可以在生生互动环节提升听力,加强理解。

Step Eight: Free Talk
show more pictures quickly to encourage more students to take an active part in the activity.
Talk about the pictures freely together to give more chances to practice listening and speaking confidently.
   由师生互动,人机对话,转向生生互动,以满足更多学生的表现欲。

Step Nine: Summary and Homework
The teacher makes a summary with the students and assigns the homework during which Thanksgiving Day is emphasized once more and reminds them to be grateful to parents or teachers and even strangers’ help.
a. Read aloud (Easter).
b. Role play (Christmas).
Try to make a summary with the help of the teacher. Remember the key words of Thanksgiving, grateful and act it out in our daily life. Get ready for homework
 
    这一环节主要是梳理出本课的教学内容并布置作业,更重要的一环节,是通过重温感恩节的意义让学生铭记感恩的重要性,以及在生活中去身体力行,课后作业依然和节日话题息息相关,同时也补充了模仿朗读这一高考口语的另类形式
