Step 1: Warm up
Sing a song----What are they doing?
[Aims]: Song can help the students to revise the Present progressive, and it also can inspire the students and liven up the classroom atmosphere.
Step 2 : Presentation and practice.
1. Talk about what Jenny has and what Jenny like to present the sound of [dʒ] .
2. Ss read the words with the sound of in the story after teacher and teacher puts them on the board and helps them to find out the same letter “ g / j ”.
3. Learn the six words and lead the students to conclude the rules of the sound [dʒ].
[Aims]: Use the words which the students have learned before can help the students learn the sounds[dʒ] more easily.
4. The rabbit can’t find the carrots. The clown comes and asks the rabbit to find the 4 animals. The animals can help him to find the carrots.
(1)To find the cat.
Game: Look at the teacher’s mouth and guess the words.
(2)To find the ant.
● The students try to read more new words with the sound [dʒ] in groups.
● Find out the different words.
(3)To find the giraffe.
● Learn the chant.
(4)To find the elephant.
● Teacher presents more words and teacher tries to make some tongue twisters with the words, following teacher’s example.
●Teacher checks some groups’ work and presents some for Ss to practice reading.
[Aims]: These four parts can arouse the students’ interesting. Every time when the students find the animal the students are very exciting.,
Step 3 : Summary and homework.
The 4 animals help the rabbit to find his carrots. The rabbit is very happy. Please remember: The animals are our good friends! We should protect them.
Homework: 1.Read and chant after class.
2. Write 3 tongue twisters.
[Aims]: The first letter of the 4 animals( cat, ant, giraffe and elephant ) combine the word cage. The students find it very funny.
