2. Discussion.
Get the students work in groups and then have the discussion of “Why do you think people all over the world want to learn English?
Ask them to accumulate some useful words and expressions
(Design purpose: Language transformation. Help the students to use the knowledge learned in the reading to speak and write.)
 
Step IV. Summary
Summarize what we have learned in the lesson and ask the students to review the information we got.
1. How to read a passage?
 (Predict , scan and skim and get main idea)
2.What’s the development of English ?
3. How did English change over time?
4. Why do so many people want to learn English?
Design purpose: This is a step to sum up the lesson. It brings all we got to review and help the students have the expression s and structures to form a passage.
 
Step Assignment
Write a formal passage of “Why do you think people all over the world want to learn English?
Design purpose: Put everything into practice writing, This is an extension of the lesson, it helps the students consolidate the knowledge in class and apply for the daily life.
