导入
1. Greeting
2.拿出三明治,问,“What’s this?  
Who knows?” 大部分学生肯定争先恐后回答,“I know, it’s a sandwich.”
T: Where’s the sandwich from.
Ss: It’s from Britain/the UK/England.
T: “Very good ,Today we are going to learn something about English diet(饮食)culture. Who can tell something about it in advance?The first volunteer and the best one will get gifts” (让学生畅所欲言)
Follow the T.
 
Tell what they have prepared before the class. Others can add if they think the information is not complete.
 
If they have any difficulties, they can ask help from the T.
吸引同学注意与兴趣,
导入主题。

课文
1. 教师肯定同学们的调查与准 备,作适当的补充,把礼物—-三明治分发给准备最好及最早发言的同学。
 
2. Around the World
1) Get the Ss to listen to the record and read after it to have a whole view of the text. Then listen again with the 2 questions, “What do the English usually have for breakfast at weekends? Why is dinner the most important meal of the day in England?”
2) Give the Ss 5 minutes to read and talk about in teams.
3) Go down to the Ss to help them solve some problems. Praise the best team.
4) Ask 2 Ss (ranks the top) to answer the two questions and to give reasons. (Let others check answers.) Praise their good points. Correct mistakes meanwhile.
5) Let them introduce the characteristics of the English breakfast, lunch and dinner in detail in teams.
6) Get 6 Ss (middle level) to go to the T’s desk to introduce them.
7) Applaud for them and make a conclusion.
Applaud for the Ss who gained the gifts.
 
 
 
Follow the T and ask questions if they meet difficulties.
 
Discuss actively in teams.
 
 
Try to introduce correctly and loudly.
调动学生更高的学习热情,并学习主题深层挂钩。

拓展
1. Let the Ss tell the differences between Chinese food and Western food. (Team reports after discussion)
1) Team discussions. (One takes notes)
2) Go to each team to help them and solve problems for them(对于部分基础较好的同学,对For Better Performance给予适度指导).
3) Team competition: One representative of each team reports their discussing result. (The best team will get a present---a bag of chips.)
4) Make a conclusion. (Praise their hard work, and add some information)
2. Take out some western tableware, ask the Ss how to put and use them.
1) 2 minutes to discuss.
2) Get 3 pairs of Ss (one isn’t good at English, the other one is good at it).One puts the tableware and the other one tells how to use meanwhile.
3) Judge which pair is the best. Correct some mistakes. Sent the gift---fried fish to the best pair.
4) Make a conclusion and tell some western etiquette .Ask the Ss to pay attention to when they are having meals with foreigners
